What is a Virtual Private Network (VPN)?
A VPN creates a virtual encrypted tunnel between you and a remote server operated by a VPN service. All external internet traffic is routed through this tunnel, so your data is secure from prying eyes. Best of all, your computer appears to have the IP address of the VPN server, masking your identity.
When your data reaches the VPN server, it exits onto the public internet. If the site you’re heading to uses HTTPS to secure the connection, you’re still secure. But even if it was intercepted, it’s difficult to trace the data back to you, since it appears to be coming from the VPN server.
Why do I need a VPN for my streaming devices?
There are many situations where a VPN service is needed. There are three main reasons why it is extremely important to always use a VPN service like IPVANISH.
- Hide your online activity from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Aside from hiding your activity from your ISP, it is important to hide your information from the servers you are accessing. (Streaming from unknown sources)
- Access Geo-Blocked content
My Fire Stream’s is proud to announce our partnership with IPVANISH.
