Terrarium TV is shut down

NitroXenon the developer of Terrarium TV has officially shut down the popular streaming service. This was not unexpected. Terrarium had not received an update for months. Many users speculated that the developer was on an extended vacation. Others saw this as being the end of Terrarium TV. When the app officially shut down users were noticing that there popular shows and movies no longer had working links. Soon after a patched version of Terrarium TV was released and was in good working order. There was one issue regarding the patched version.

With the release of the patched version of Terrarium TV users were seeing a popup stating that their IP address and location were being tracked. Another popup stating that Terrarium couldn’t guarantee that they would not share your information was seen.

You are being tracked!

Recently, the popular file-sharing news site TorrentFreak featured an article where they interview the Terrarium App developer, NitroXenon.

When TorrentFreak asked him about the warnings that were popping up, he made the following comment.

“I’m just telling the truth,” he told TF. “Almost every app tracks a user’s IP [addresses]. And if I must [hand] the info to authorities then I’ll do it.”

Other than making this statement, he was tight-lipped on the closing of the official Terrarium TV application.  It is unclear whether he was facing legal pressures or he simply wants the app to vanish and never resurface again.
