Vudu – Start Watching Free Movies And TV Today!

What is Vudu?

Vudu is a digital video-on-demand service. Since Vudu was released it has provided users with a way to rent both digital TV and movies right from home. In 2016, they implemented an ad-supported service similar to Crackle. This ad-supported service now allows users to access both movies and TV shows for free! Vudu has a wide variety of content in its library which sets Vudu apart from its competitors.

New releases are being added every week both for sale and rental. This allows users early access to popular titles before they hit the storefront. These new releases range from blockbusters, small indie titles, and still in theaters. For users not looking to rent or buy movies and TV shows, you can access their wide variety of free content. New releases often come at a cost whether you pay for early access or buy. If you are looking for free access you will be presented with older movies and TV shows.

How does Vudu work?

You will find that Vudu has a simple layout that’s easily navigated. The menus are separated into sections for Movies, TV, and Free content. The popular titles are neatly organized into sliding panels similar to Netflix and Amazon Prime. One thing you should keep in mind when searching through their interface is that some content is being offered for sale, rent, or free. You may find that a title you wish to watch is only offered for sale. If you don’t mind the wait, give it a few weeks and that title will be added to the rent list.

Accessing Vudu is completely free and you don’t even have to make an account to browse through its extensive library. Any free content accessed via this service does come at a cost. Users will be presented with several ads although we have found that this does not interfere with your viewing experience.

What is the pricing?

Vudu’s offers a wide range of pricing depending on several factors. Movies rentals typically cost anywhere between $0.99 to $5.99 whereas purchases can range anywhere from $4.99 to $24.99. This all depends on the video quality you choose, and if it’s a new release.

For TV titles users can expect to pay anywhere from $1.99 to $2.99 per episode, while full seasons run anywhere from $14.99 to $45.99. Unlike movies, TV shows cannot be rented on Vudu. You must purchase these shows by buying either the single episode or full season.

What devices work with Vudu?

Like other popular streaming apps, Vudu is easily accessible on the most popular devices. See a list of compatible devices below:

  • Smart TV’s
  • Mobile Vudu App
  • Streaming Devices
  • Gaming Consoles
  • Web browsers

Sadly, for Amazon devices like the Firestick/Fire TV Vudu can’t be accessed officially on these devices. This is probably due to a competition between the two services since both offer content for rent/purchase. Vudu can be accessed on popular streaming devices like Roku, Apple TV, Tivo, and Chromecast.

Amazon Firestick/Fire TV users don’t worry! Although you can’t access this service directly through Amazon you can sideload this app onto your device with just a few simple steps. To get Vudu installed on your device follow this simple and fast install guide!
