COVID-19 Causing IPTV Issues:
With the recent pandemic that is occuring due to the COVID-19 virus this is causing more than just health risks. Internet service providers are reporting HUGE increases in internet usage. As many of you are aware the COVID-19 pandemic is forcing people to stay home. Many individuals are spending more time online streaming from services like IPTV, Netflix, Hulu, and more while waiting out the pandemic.
Not only are ISP’s getting overwhelmed with the increase in usage but other services like Netflix are being asked to lower their streaming quality to help reduce the load. IPTV companies are facing similar issues due to this pandemic.
WatchYa TV IPTV recently sent out a notice letting their users know that all IPTV services are currently experiencing issues. Below you will see a statement that WatchYa TV sent out:
As you can see, IPTV companies are doing their part to help free up bandwidth by lowering the quality of some of their links. Buffering is something that everyone should expect during this crisis. This is not an issue with any IPTV company is merely a result of the pandemic that’s occurring due to COVID-19.
What can you do?
With more people being forced to work and stay at home we can only expect more issues to arise as time goes on. We can all do our part to help reduce internet loads during this time. Some key things everyone should be doing is the following:
- If you are not watching a stream then turn off the device
- Rather than choosing a 4K or HD stream try going with a SD stream.
- Limit the amount of time you stream. Find other activities to stay busy rather than streaming all day.
Although these steps are not a permanent fix they will help ISP’s so that other services like IPTV can continue to run without facing issues. COVID-19 is causing issues worldwide so don’t think that this is only affecting you. Everyone is being affected in one way or another due to this pandemic.
