Although you can easily download the APK files to your PC you will not be able to use them.

There are a lot of cord-cutters that stay on the move and taking a Firestick around is too much of a hassle. With the use of one simple application, you will now be able to easily install and use your favorite streaming apps directly on your PC. The times of taking around your streaming devices are over.

So how can you install APK’s on a Windows PC? Bluestacks!

Bluestacks enables streaming on Windows PC

What is Bluestacks?

The story of BlueStacks began in 2009 when the daughter of a founding member wanted to play her mobile games on her dad’s laptop while they were out on a family trip.

In 2011, the founding members crossed paths in Silicon Valley and came together to develop a downloadable software that would provide users a great Android experience on Windows PCs and Macs. In that very year, BlueStacks was launched as an Android app player by a three-member team.

Today, BlueStacks has a team of over 300 people spread across the globe and is one of the most recognized tech brands in the industry. The app player has evolved to become the top Android gaming platform for PC, trusted by over 400 million+ gamers in 200+ international locations. Some of the world’s top game developers leverage the platform to promote their games.

Is playing Android games all that Bluestacks can do? NO!

Bluestacks, not only gives you the ability to play Android games but it gives you the ability to install APK’s. Since you can install Android-based games you can easily install other Android-based applications. This means your favorite APK’s can be installed on Bluestacks and accessed using their software.

Consider this, Bluestacks is an emulator that simply “emulates” an Android device. This emulation turns your PC into an Android device like a tablet. You are not rewriting your Windows operating system but simply installing an application that when opened looks like a tablet.

This application is like having your very own Android Tablet that is FREE!

How to stream on Windows PC?

In order to stream on Windows PC, you will first need to download the free Bluestacks software. You can download Bluestacks using the link below or by visiting the Bluestacks official website.

After downloading the Bluestacks file you will need to open the .exe file and go through the install process. For a detailed install, process see the steps below.

Installing Bluestacks on Windows PC

  • Download the Bluestacks Software using the link above
  • Open the Bluestacks .exe file to start the install process
  • After opening the exe file click install
  • Wait for the software to be downloaded. This process does take a while so be patient. If you notice any errors you may need to turn off your antivirus software before trying to install Bluestacks.
  • Once the download finishes it will automatically start the install process. Please wait for this to finish. As with the download, it may take a while to complete.
  • Once Bluestacks finishes installing it will automatically open the software.
  • When Bluestacks opens you will be asked if you want to login into the Google Play Store. We highly recommend logging into the Google Play Store as you can use this store to download some of the APK’s. Unlike the Amazon App Store, Google Play offers access to some of the APK’s you already use so signing in to Google Play will give you the best Bluestacks experience.
  • After you login Google Play Store will automatically open
  • Before we proceed take note of the “tabs” at the top of Bluestacks. Each time you open an application on Bluestacks a “new tab” will open. Right now you should have a “home tab” and “Google Play” tab. You can close any application by clicking on the “x” on the tab you want to close.
  • Go ahead and close the Google Play Store tab but leave the Bluestacks software open and proceed to the next section.

Setting up Bluestacks for streaming

In this section, we will be showing you how to get Filelinked installed so you can download and install your favorite streaming APK’s.

  • On the Bluestacks home screen click “System Apps”
  • Next, Click on Browser to open the Google Chrome web browser
  • Type in the address bar “” and click enter. On the Filelinked website click the “download Filelinked” button.
  • If a popup appears asking if you want to download click “ok”.
  • Once the download finishes click open
  • On the install page click “install”. You may notice that this install screen looks familiar similar to that of the Amazon Firestick app install process. If you are familiar with that process then installing, updating, and opening these APK’s will be a breeze for you.
  • Once the install finishes you can either click open to open the Filelinked app or you can manually open the app through the Bluestacks Home screen. For this guide, we will show you how to access the app from the home screen.
  • Close the “browser” tab at the top
  • On the Bluestacks home screen tab, you should see the newly installed Filelinked app. Take note that the logo image for Filelinked does not look the same as it does on the Amazon Fire devices. This is still the same app so do not worry about the image.
  • Click on the Filelinked app to open it.
  • At this point, you should be familiar with how Filelinked works for installing and getting your favorite APK’s. • Myfirestreams only recommends streaming content that falls within Public Domain. We highly recommend that cord-cutters install IPVanish either through our Filelinked store or through the Google Play Store so that you can use a VPN with Bluestacks to hide your online activity. You can also directly install and use IPVanish on your Windows PC.
